Date started: I started before we even opened the doors so I curated everything you can find here.
What Got You Interested In Beer: I lived in Portland, Oregon across the street and become great friends with Lisa Morrison, the “Real Beer Goddess” and GABF winner. She had 2 taps in her kitchen and I got to meet her friends: Larry Bell, the owners of Russian River and Lagunitas, and many other legends of the beer world.
Favorite local brewery: I love Batch Brewing in the Corktown neighborhood of Detroit. I don’t think they make a bad beer and I go down there at least every other week. Their IPA’s are on point, the people are fantastic, and their food is amazing. I also love ROAK in Royal Oak. The beer’s great, the crab rangoon pizza is to die for, and the people are even better!
Favorite Beer: I’ve been lucky enough to have Pliny the Elder and Younger on multiple occasions. Locally, there are so many great beers in the state of Michigan. You can never go wrong with Bell’s Two Hearted. When I’m feeling in a sour mood, Speciation out of Grand Rapids can do no wrong.
What Makes Beerhead Bar Special: Honestly, it’s the atmosphere and experience. I love interacting with the customers, sharing my knowledge and passion for beer. With 50 taps and 360 bottles, I guarantee I can find a beer for any customer, be they a beerhead or a novice.
What Would You Like The World To Know About Beerhead: Our goal is to make every person feel welcome. Beer is supposed to be fun! Come in for a pint, a cocktail, or wine and enjoy anything from bingo, trivia to live music as well as meet with brewery reps. We have it all!
Anything Else Quirky & Fun: I worked government jobs for 20 years before I stumbled upon my passion. It took a while, but I finally have a job that I love.
Favorite Food To Pair With Beer: Our food is great and healthy since we don’t have a fryer. If I’m having a beer after work or on my day off at Beerhead, I love our wings or our pizzas with a pint or 2. If I’m out somewhere else and feeling like punishing myself, give me a burger every time.

Curious guests can sign up for a condensed version of Beer ‘U’. In this session, they will learn more about beer and food pairings. For example, how sour beers can fit into your next dinner party.
This unique opportunity gives guests a chance to learn new tips and be more involved in the Beerhead experience. Work groups, private parties and friends can plan a custom tailored Beer ‘U’ program which are hosted at this location.
