About  Our Vernon Hills Location

Where am I? You will find yourself asking yourself this question when savoring an American craft beer flight selection, a pint of a Tighthead, Lake Bluff, or Ten Ninety Brewery’s latest selection, or the timeless flavor of a Weinstephaner. Beerhead Bar is a true craft beer bar designed for the beer purist. Built around open communal seating that flows out to a comfortable patio complete with firepits and fountain, Beerhead Bar bustles yet soothes all at the same time. It’s not the city, but it’s metropolitan. It’s not Europe, yet it is reminiscent of a German bier garden or cozy old-world tavern in certain corners … a place to meet friends, old or new … a place where you will tend to return. Tried and true. The Beer Market in Vernon Hills is the place many of us call home. We hope you will too. Drink Good Beer. Live Happy.

What got you interested in craft beer?

In 2007 I visited the Samuel Adams brewery in Boston, went on the tour and after a very fun taproom tasting, ended up spending the rest of the weekend with people I met during the tour.  It was at that moment in my life when I realized that fresh, tasty beer brings people together in a way no other alcohol can accomplish!!!!

What is your favorite beer?

Currently it’s a toss-up between Founders Nitro Breakfast Stout and Palm Fronds of Innocence from Roaring Table Brewery – definitely my top two beers of 2017.

What makes Beerhead Bar special?

The combination of an amazing craft beer selection, simple yet high-quality food, and most importantly the service we provide along with our level of beer knowledge.  We’re not just servers & bartenders…we’re Beer Heads!

What would you like the world to know?

We don’t just sell beer & food; we are experts in all things beer and we have a menu that highlights great food while not trying to be too many different things.  Too often restaurants try to offer the world and do not execute 100%.  We may not have as extensive a food menu as our beer list, but that means everything is coming out fresh, tasty, & consistent.

Anything else quirky or fun you’d like people to know?

I love the combination of a nice pale ale & karaoke.  I am also a world-champion Beer Pong player, if you count Purdue University as “the world.”

The staff.  It’s such a wonderful culture of diverse people brought together by the desire to experience and enjoy craft beer.

Behind the scenes were “forced” to try all these beers so we can better help you decide on your next beer. We pride ourselves in being knowledgeable on our product.
